The village of organic farming in the plantation sector will spread across 23 Provinces

JAKARTA, JITUNEWS.COM - The Government continued to focus doing stages events for achieving harmonious village 150 commodity-based organic farming plantations.

Through this effort, expected in the year 2019 will be available 150 village certified organic and self-sufficient in the provision of production inputs of organic material.

"As implemented in the sub sectors of food crops and horticulture, process development activities 150 organic farming villages for plantation commodities are also set to take place in 2015 to 2019" said the Director of the plant protection Plantations of Ministry of Agriculture Plantations, Ditjen Dudi Gunadi.

There are three stages of activities according to Dudi that must be done to realize the formation of organic agriculture based village 150 commodity plantations. The first stage (year 2015) is the stage of determination of the candidates/candidate site (CP/CL).

Second, the (2016) stages of initiation that includes activities of socialization and provision of production infrastructures, and the third stage (year 2017-2019) is a time of preparation of the documents, including product certification preparation and activities of appreciation of organic products.

Dudi said, the development of organic farming villages in the plantation sector was carried out on a group of farmers who cultivate plantations of commodities with the results of the production is consumed in the form of fresh such as coffee, cocoa, nutmeg, tea, cashew nuts, coconuts and Palm and have been applying Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) or has ever been in touch with school activities, airy Integrated pest control (SL-PHT).

Dudi said, with the formation of organic farming village 150 then at least there will be 150 certified organic farmer groups with the target area of certified each group on 15 acres. And, said Dudi, organic farming villages in the plantation sector this will spread across 23 provinces.
