UNGARANG, KAB. SEMARANG – Pre historic Gourds, most of people in Indonesia will feel uncommon to hear the name of this plant since it is not widely found in Indonesia. True to its name, the size of the pre-historic gourds is much larger than the size of a normal pumpkin, and the shape and the colour is also different. This gourds can only grow in certain countries such as Australia. Then is it also can be grown in Indonesia?

PT. Sidomuncul Pupuk Nusantara (SMPN) as a company engaged in agriculture is interested to try cultivating this gourds. In collaboration with colleagues in Australia, SMPN imported Pre Historic gourds and planted in the farmland. The planting trial of this gourds is accompanied by BIOFARM organic fertilizer application of SMPN. The result is satisfying, this Pre-historic gourds is well grown, stable and reach a maximum weight.

In addition to the Pre Historic Gourds, SMPN is also cultivating white eggplant which the seed is also imported from Australia. (awandahana)
